Who We Are

What is OGSY? This is a development project which pioneered the linking of sports with social improvement and community development activities.  Today, OGSY is one of the self-help youth sports and community service in the slum of Mathare and its surrounding.  Over 70 young mother and football players now participate in the different OGSY Programs.

What We Do

It organizes a wide range of community development activities.  A summary of activities are: involving youth in development,  sports and environmental cleanup, reducing diseases and death in slum through the cleanups and ensuring that they teach the community on proper hygiene. Tackling the HIV and AIDS threat through free talks from the player and their Coaches, reducing substance abuse and helping young leaders stay in school by paying for them school fees and taking some of its members to deferent courses; mostly those have completed their high school.

Women Football

The aim was to help these young women get back to school as some of them had to drop out due to pregnancy and early births as well as help them to venture into diverse activities and to be able to tap their talents and have a choice of career.

F.C. OLD IS GOLD activities include weekly training and meetings, schools out reach programs on HIV/ AID and drug abuse among others, with these activities running throughout the month. Members meet 3 times in a week for training and discussions at the Mathare Deport Field.
